Fall in Sedona is a riot of colors!  As temperatures cool down, the trees change colors and make the landscape a rainbow of Fall colors against the red rocks of the desert.  Outdoor activities are still a number one choice for visitors to the area, but it is also a great time to visit our local shops, galleries and dining establishments for a wide variety of offerings....you might even find a couple of holiday gifts!

Fall Weather In Sedona

A visit to Sedona in the Fall is full of blue skies and moderate temperatures.  After highs in the 90's for most of the summer, Sedona guests love the cool mornings and warm afternoons the area enjoys during the Fall.  The average mid-day temperatures in October are in the high 60's to low 70's, and November the temperatures fall solidly in the upper 60's.  We recommend that you dress in layers so that you can be comfortable throughout the day!!

Hot Air Balloon Ride

The best way to view the beautiful red rocks of the Sedona along with the variety of Fall colors is from the air. Starting at dawn, the flights usually last a little over an hour, and include a complimentary champagne toast after you land. Fall is a great season for hot air balloon rides, as the temperature at dawn is cool but not too cold.

Slide Rock State Park

Fall is the perfect time of year to visit Slide Rock State Park. Located near Sedona, Slide Rock State Park’s beautiful apple orchards go through a wonderful transformation in the Fall as all the leaves start to change colors. The Slide Rock Apple Festival occurs in late September, featuring a day full of interesting activities including picking your own apples.

Wildlife Park

Located just 30 miles South of Sedona, the Out of Africa Wildlife Park offers an African Savannah experience in the middle of Arizona. With a large selection of unique African mammals and birds, any wildlife enthusiast will love visiting the wildlife park. The park also features other activities, such as guided expeditions and even a zipline! This is a great family attraction.

Sunset Crater  Volcano

Located about an hour North of Sedona, the Sunset Crater Volcano shows the raw power of nature. Despite erupting around 1085, the cooled lava flows can still be found around the base of the volcano. While you aren’t able to hike to the volcano crater itself, you can hike the nearby O’Leary Peak which provides a beautiful view down into the volcano’s crater. Fall is the perfect time to visit, as the park is relatively empty of people
